LI . To think deeply about a change I would make

If you were Prime Minister, what one thing would you do to change NZ for the better and why?

If i was a prime minister, I Would  help people in need,I would help people  with the rent and make pay rates higher  for all workers, and all the kids to have free school lunches. Also give homeless people a home or reunite with their family.

Inquiry

LI: To decide which political party will get your vote by making an informed choice

This week we decided which political party I would vote for I read a summary of the policies each party wants to introduce should they win the election and the right to form a government to run NZ. Doing this allowed me to make an informed decision.

If I was 18 I would vote for National because they have caring for animals. This means if Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi .Won the election in my electorate Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi would be our member of parliament and Jacinda Ardern ardern would become the Prime Minister.

Tell us something you found interesting and why.

LI:To identify the different types and uses of plastic

Sea turtles that eat 14 pieces of plastic have 50 per cent chance of dying, CSIRO study finds - ABC News

This week for tech the year 7s at Panmure Bridge School  learned about the different types of plastics. We also learned about Plastic, material, wood, paper and metal which helps us understand more about  plastics. We also played an activity that will give us more information on plastic. The activity we played was about looking around the class and trying to look for the different materials that we could see. The most interesting fact that I learnt was that every year 17 billion rubbish gets thrown away in the ocean.

Making Connections to problem solving

LI: To explore problem solving

Today we had bad connection to the internet, instead of using the internet we went old school and used paper. We made Tangrams from a piece of A4 paper and a pair of scissors. We didn't read our instructions this time as we had to listen carefully to each step. A Tangram is a square cut into seven pieces which can be arranged to make other shapes.  Did you know it is an ancient Chinese puzzle? The hardest part was to make a square with all the 7 shapes. We had to problem solve to put the shapes together to make the different animals.  We collaborated very well together.

6 sentence story

L.I. Use 6 sentences to set up the structure of a narrative

Add verbs, adverbs and adjectives to a text to make it interesting for the reader

Xodus kept many keys, but he couldn't find the one he was looking for. He got angry. He had memorized all his keys and knew exactly which key opened which lock. No friends, no family, he was lonely. Luckily he had his imaginary cat. There was a knock on his door but when he approached, nobody was there.

Today my group wrote 6 sentence stories to help us take risks with our writing. We did this by sharing our ideas and writing sentence that drop hints about what was happening in the picture we chose to write about. We helped each other by suggesting ideas to each other to make our stories more interesting.
