What is a pulley? It is a simple machine made with a rope and wheel,How we learnt about pulleys is with a rope and a two sticks and two people them one person pulls the rope and wait to see it they fall.

Measuring

L.I What is a Area and Perimeter.
This week we measured 5 simple shapes for practice, Once we finish the 5 shapes,we had to find any 3 shapes to measure then make a poster about it, My shapes were a bar fraction, place value block,cube

kiwi can

This week for kiwi can we had to make four lines, first we had to recap what we did last week. Then we were playing bunny vs rats, We had to grab the cone as fast as you can before the other person get the cone, we also recapped on what we did in the game. Then we played the activity witch was challenges, The challenges we do sit ups, push ups, squats, bur pees, then we had to re make the catch praise, write the abcs backwards, and we had put the Maori colors English.

Speech finals

Today was the speech finals, We had a special guest who came to our school from Tamaki college, It was so amazing how people went up with their confidence. My favorite poem from the juniors was Kendrick his poem was earth day , Reason why i like earth day is to keep the earth clean and stop the pollution so animals don't die.My favorite speech from the seniors was Sulia her speech was about the dangers of technology, The reasons why I like dangers of technology is to get off the computer and spend time talking, laughing , and also spend time with your family.

LI: to apply the print design rules

We had to fix the poster using composition,color,layout,text, Composition is the elements parts that go on a poster or other media, Text is the use of font styles, sizes, and colors to make a poster or other media easy to understand and visually appealing, Color is the combinations of colors to make media look appealing or easy to understand. Layouts is the arrangement and alignment of the elements that go on a medium.

Wheel and Axle l Lether

LI: to learn about wheel and axles and lever

A wheel is a circle that rolls along the ground. An axle is a stick or rod that goes through the center of the
wheel. A lever is a bar that rests on a fulcrum to lift up a heavy load by applying pressure on one side.
We had a poster for both simple machines and we had to answer the questions on the poster.
We then had to make a wheel and axle. We then later in the week tried to use the lever to pick something
up. 

Print Design Rules

We were leaning about Print Design Rules, The four main parts were Composition,Text, Color, Layout. Composition is the elements parts that go on a poster or other media, Text is the use of font styles, sizes, and colors to make a poster or other media easy to understand and visually appealing, Color is the combinations of colors to make media look appealing or easy to understand. Layouts is the arrangement and alignment of the elements that go on a medium.

Swimming

LI:  To swim a long way without drowning. 
We started swimming with stream line

Stream line
We all had to remember to put our arms behind your ears, and face down.

Kicking boards   
We had to use the boards to kick with our face facing up. After we had to use boards facing up and kicking.

Swim making stomach touch the ground
We had to dive to make our stomach we close to touch the ground.

Challenge
We had to use any swimming techniques to the end of the pool. I used freestyle and going on to the back to get air.

Ihumatao

For reading we have been working on ihumatao, The slides we had to do was 12,13,14,15, We had to research using a article with dates. We had to make sure it is in the right order, because if it wasn't in order it wouldn't make any sense.

Making 3d shapes

LI:To make 3D shapes with paper

For math we've been working on 3D shapes, we made 3D shapes using paper. We made cubes also a square based pyramid.We used a ruler to make the out line straight, also we used tabs to make the 3D shape.   

Rube Goldberg

We were leaning about Rube Goldberg.Rube Goldberg is a actor, author, sculptor, cartoonist.  We made our machine with our bodies. 

The lion king

Last term we have been doing plays we got the opportunity to visits Orison Junior college we watch are amazing performance. We watched the lion king, It was a amazing performance. We also got a tour of the whole school. 

 

Kiwi can

LI: to learn about emotions.

For kiwi can we were learning how to use emotions. For our energizer we played emotion cards were we all had a card then we had to find cards that mean the same.For our activity we did role plays our play was about test. We had to tell the kids to go sleep for the big test tomorrow.

This week lS1 B went to kiwi can. We were leaning about how to use your emotions. We played an activity could emotion charades. Were you you get a peace of paper of a emotion after act it out.

Swimming

LI:To learn how to swim
For kiwi sport we have been swimming this was a great kiwi sport because we all got to know new swimming moves. We also got to use new things to use for our swimming.We got onto the bus then arrived to the pools. First there were three groups i was in group 3. We were learning on how to do stream line , rolling to get breath , Also floating on our backs.

Cybersmart

LI: to use keywords for better searching

This week we have been working on Keywords. We had to find two sites that has facts about our questions and the topic Komodo Dragons. We had to copy and paste the answer to our question.

Shapes

I: to make names and describe polygons and other plane shapes
My math was about 2D shapes and 3D shapes but we ended up only doing 3D shapes. We made 3D shapes out of tooth picks and blue tack. You can check out the slide to see what i made with tooth picks and blue tack.
